Below are Some Commonly Asked Questions
Is there a minimum age for renting from you?
We prefer to work with customers who are 25 years and above due to our insurance coverage restrictions. But, based upon your needs, whenever we can, we try to be accommodating.
In case you are below twenty-five, try checking in with your insurance company to determine if you would be covered for rental vehicles, particularly for pick-up trucks, and then call us.
Would you be able to accommodate families who have kids?
Of course! Please keep in mind that using our rooftop camping vehicles you would need to climb one small ladder. If this sounds like a problem, we also offer an extra camping tent with each of our packages which you could put up on the ground. This could be much more comfortable for you as well as your young children.
How many individuals can your camper vehicles fit?
Our camping trucks fit three individuals maximum, though in case there are more in your group, we do provide an additional camping tent, too. With this, we are able to fit up to five people. Each of our trucks has 5 seatbelts.
Do you provide surfboards?
Yes, we provide both surfboards & boogie boards and fins on request for a small fee. Just tell us up-front if you want to rent one, so that we can add it to your reservation and have it ready for you at departure.
Can we get a guide book or a map with the nicest hiking trails & beaches to visit on Kauai?
Sure, each vehicle has a Kauai guidebook which details maps and information on the best spots to visit and camp out on Kauai.
Ideal Places For Camping Out On Kauai & Information Regarding Camping Permits
Am I able to visit any beach front for camping?
You can go to any beach, however, you should only put up your camp in official camping grounds. Here on Kauai, this is the standard procedure. We will give you a list of the top places to explore and to go camping. Please be aware that driving a vehicle on the beaches is not allowed on Kauai.
Is “wild camping” permitted or can we just go to official camping sites? If so, how much does it cost?
No, wild camping is not allowed in Kauai. You can only camp in specified areas with a current camping permit. The fee is around $3 per night in the majority of Kauai county campgrounds, though private campgrounds could be a bit more. One particular advantage of these campgrounds is that you will have full access to facilities, such as showers, washrooms and picnic tables. Please keep in mind that if you choose to camp on the county campgrounds, you are only permitted to use the ground tent.
Could you recommend any Kauai camping sites where I can set up the roof top tent?

Do we have to get Kauai camping permits before we arrive in Kauai?
It is a better to obtain your Kauai camping permits before your arrival. For most private campsites, which we always recommend first, you can secure your permits online and also on-the-spot in the respective office.
If you opt to stay at a county campsite and use a ground tent, you can ask for permits by going to the “County of Kauai Camping Information” webpage.
Up-front, the costs are $3 per night for non-residents of Hawaii. Payment methods accepted with this application are bank checks as well as money orders. Nevertheless, you don’t necessarily have to book your camping licenses prior to your arrival. You can also obtain them at the various permit offices on the island, which is typically easier.
How much time will it take to obtain the camping permits?
Whether you decide to go to a state or private camping ground, both online and in person reservations are possible. Please note that if you decide to go to a county camping ground, mail-in applications are easy to submit, however it might take quite a while to receive your permits. You might get your permits upon arrival to Kauai at the designated permit offices on Kauai; in-person you will get them on the spot.
